Listening to the Spirit

By Lynn Seth

Lynn describes herself as a “charismatic Catholic” and has been a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Kailua for 46 years.  Pivotal moments in Lynn’s faith journey include the death process with her father, dealing with macular degeneration in later years, and discerning the Holy Spirit in her own life.  She counts herself an “intercessor and prayer warrior.”

Lynn came to Hawai‘i in 1960 with a one-way ticket on the SS Lurline to attend the University of Hawai‘i.  She married but then became a single mom with two children ages four and six.  Active in retail management for many years, she was able to support her family.  Wishing to spend more time with her children, she became a professional wall paper hanger.  She met her current husband, John, 24 years ago and has seven grandchildren.  They reside in Kailua.

Lynn is busy at this time painting their home.  She is a volunteer teacher at St. Anthony’s tutoring children.  She also facilitates Living Room retreats encouraging women to pray and journal.

Lynn will address such questions as:

1. Pushed or led by the Spirit?

2.  How can you move from this life to the next and help your loved ones on their journey?

3.  How do you deal with a life altering medical diagnosis?

Sharing of our diverse interfaith experiences on “listening to the Spirit” may be enriching for all of us.

We welcome Lynn Seth to Interfaith Conversations.
