Statement on ice addiction and related issues

The Interfaith Alliance Hawai'i supports the recommendations of the Lt. Governor’s Drug Summit and of the Legislative Force on Ice.

We believe that addiction to crystal methamphetamine and other drugs and alcohol is a public health issue, and needs to be addressed by the community holistically.

Prevention, treatment, community mobilization, and law enforcement all have roles to play in fighting addiction and related problems.  Those efforts compliment each other and need to be kept in balance.
